Main Purpose Of Job

Social Worker II, Health Services is the full performance level of professional clinical
social work providing direct social work services to clients in a special population in
a health care setting. The nature of the work may require evening and weekend hours. 
Work is performed in hospitals, residential facilities, clinics or local health units. 

MINIMUM EDUCATION OR GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Education:  Determined by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners under
the licensing requirements for Social Workers.

Experience:  Two years experience rendering clinical social work services in a health
care or treatment setting subsequent to the receipt of an approved Master’s degree in
Social Work from an accredited college or university.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Candidates must be licensed as a Certified Social Worker or Certified Social Worker,
Clinical by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners prior to appointment to
a position in State service. Please upload a copy of your current license to your application.

2. Candidates appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which
require the operation of an automobile. Employees assigned such duties will be required
to possess an appropriate operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to
pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.

(Snow Hill, MD)-The Worcester County Health Department (WCHD) and the Maryland Department of Health celebrated this year’s 2018 Healthiest Maryland Business (HMB) awardees at the 9th Annual Maryland in the Workplace Health and Wellness Symposium earlier this month. The Maryland Department of Health and the Maryland Poison Control Center, in partnership with the CDC, is recommending that clinicians maintain a high index of suspicion for vitamin K-dependent antagonist coagulopathy in patients with a history or suspicion of using synthetic cannabinoids. Patients may present with clinical signs of coagulopathy, bleeding unrelated to an injury, or bleeding without another explanation.
