Individual, group and youth counseling is free and offered throughout Worcester County.  Joining a class gives you the best chance for success.









Vouchers are available for program participants who wish to use:

  • Nicotine patches
  • Nicotine gum, lozenges
  • Chantix

You can become a non-smoker!



Who is eligible for these services?

  • Any resident or person working in Worcester County is eligible.

  • Snow Hill Health Center
  • Berlin Health Center
  • Pocomoke Health Center
  • WACS Center (West Ocean City)

How much do these services cost?
  • They're FREE!



FAQs


  • How long are the sessions?
    • 12 weeks  (7 weeks education/ 5 weeks group support)
  • How do I enroll in the voucher program?
    • You must be a resident of or working in Worcester County and attend group or individual smoking cessation counseling. The counselor will provide you with the voucher program information.
  • Do I have to participate in group counseling?
    • While group counseling is encouraged, individual counseling can be arranged as needed.
  • When do the next sessions start?
    • Call 410-632-0056. These are held throughout the year.

The Worcester County Health Department is encouraging local residents to participate in an open interest meeting about community gardens in our area. If you are a gardener or are interested in learning about or working on a community garden in Worcester, please attend the free event at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20 at the Worcester County Recreation Center in Snow Hill.

Maryland Department of Health releases 2017 first quarter fatal overdose data
Fentanyl-related deaths shows largest increase
 
Baltimore, MD (August 4, 2017) – The Maryland Department of Health today released data for fatal overdoses in the first quarter of 2017. During this period, which encompasses January to March of 2017, there were 550 overdose-related deaths in the state, including 372 fentanyl-related deaths. The report is posted on the Department of Health website and can be accessed here.
