The Worcester County Health Department is located in Snow Hill, Maryland on the beautiful Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland.
Our mission is to promote health, well being, and a safe environment for all of our residents, as well as those who visit our resort areas each season.
We accomplish this by assessing the community's needs, developing appropriate policy to promote health and well being, and providing, or assuring the provision, of needed quality health services. We currently have approx. 275 employees with a variety of educational backgrounds who specialize in such areas as: Environmental Science, Nursing, Social Work, Prevention and Health Promotion, Chemical Dependency Services, Administrative Services, and Mental Health.

Environmental Health Specialist Trainee (Merit)

Patient Client Driver (Full-time Contractual)
The main purpose of this full-time contractual position will be to provide transportation for Medical Assistance eligible patients to and from medical services. Licensed Practical Nurse I (Contractual)
The main purpose of this full-time contractual position will be to perform nursing duties within the Behavioral Health Unit. This position will provide support for Psychiatrists, Nurse Practitioners, and Behavioral Health Nurses. This position will also provide services that include but are not limited to: Medication Reconciliation, Collection of Blood Pressure, Height, Weight, Health Promotion, Administer injections, Assist prescribers with refill requests and prior authorizations, Helping manage the caseload, and Correspondence with prescribers (Psychiatrists and Nurse Practitioners). In addition, this position will require occasional weekend and/or evening hours. The selected applicant must be able to work and travel to all Worcester County Health Department sites. Social Worker II, Health Services
Social Worker II, Health Services is the full performance level of professional clinical social work providing direct social work services to clients in a special population in a health care setting. The nature of the work may require evening and weekend hours. Work is performed in hospitals, residential facilities, clinics or local health units.

A Community Health Nurse II is the full performance level of direct nursing care to patients in various community settings and local health department clinics. Employees in this classification do not supervise other nursing staff but may supervise support staff.
