Bring the family together this summer with Worcester Health’s Healthy Worcester Families Program

Snow Hill, MD - Bring your family together while adopting a healthier lifestyle with the Worcester County Health Department’s program, Healthy Worcester Families.

This 9-week program uses an evidence-based curriculum to help strengthen the family bond and communication through group learning and activities. The program is designed for youth ages 7-17 and their parents/guardians to attend together.

Sessions are two hours per week over the 9-week program, and a free family dinner is provided at the start of every session. Families have the opportunity to receive prizes and other incentives for participating in the program. Topics covered include communication skills, healthy behaviors, financial literacy, and other skills to strengthen the family connection.

As a result of participating in this program, past participants said their families would continue to "be better at communicating with each other and use 'I' statements when talking about emotions", "respect each other's feelings more" and "have weekly dinners with connecting check-ins."

The summer session begins Monday, July 29th, from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at Bayside Community Church (206 5th Street, Pocomoke City, MD 21851).
